Preesall is located on the eastern bank of the River Wyre, just ten miles from Fleetwood. Preesall and Knott End host an annual gala that attracts visitors from around the region. Being located so close to the sea this is an ideal location for budding coastal walkers, and seaside enthusiasts.A lovely coastal walk can be enjoyed from Knott End to Pilling as well as a great walk along the esplanade where you can see a number of Edwardian shelters along with great views over Morecambe Bay and towards the Forest of Bowland. Preesall is mentioned in the Domesday Book and the name is thought to be Celtic in origin, meaning ‘a hill and a heath’. In the village you’ll find a range of local shops and The Black Bull pub which serves great food. In the neighbouring village of Knott End there is also a golf course. The village is well connected by a bus service running from Lancaster to Blackpool.
