Great Harwood cottages
Great Harwood is a town steeped in industrial heritage, and was once part of the Great Harwood loop of Lancashire and Yorkshire railway. It is also home to the Great Harwood Mercer Memorial Clock, and hosts the annual Great Harwood Show. This is a superb location for exploring Lancashire and the north-west from a Red Rose Holiday Cottage. There is a market in the town every Friday selling fruit and vegetables and meat and fish, there is also a popular farmers market on the first Sunday of every month where you can find traditional Lancashire food as well as locally brewed beer, luxury body care and jewellery stalls. There are three supermarkets in the town so you won’t have to travel far to pick up those essentials. In the evenings there are several restaurants in the town to choose from, with a variety of cuisines available, and there’s plenty of quaint little cafes for those leisurely lunches. When you’re in the area why not pay a visit to the Clitheroe Castle Museum, discover the Pendle Witches Mystery Trail or learn more about this fascinating county at the Museum of Lancashire in nearby Preston.
