Situated six miles south of Lancaster and 15 miles north-west of Preston, Cockerham is a small village located on the River Cocker. Cockerham is a great location for those wishing to walk and explore Lancashire's west coast with some great bird watching in the area. The local church, St Michaels, used to be situated in the middle of the village however has since been relocated to higher ground due to flooding. The local pub, the Manor Inn serves locally brewed ales and delicious food with excellent roast dinners served on Sundays. The village offers easy access to the coast (ideal for lazy days on the beach with your bucket and spade!) and the seaside resort of Blackpool is just 17 miles away. Other great things to do in the local area include the Lancaster City Museum, Blackpool Zoo or enjoy the stunning walking routes in the nearby Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
