Raughton Head cottages
Raughton Head is a hamlet located eight miles south of Carlisle and offers a great location for exploring the Lake District. Or if you want to head further north, the Scottish Borders are just a short drive away. This is an ideal base for a lovely rural country cottage holiday. The Lake District National Park is closeby, as is the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making this the perfect location for cyclists and walkers. The nearest pub to the hamlet would be in the neighbouring village of Dalston, the Bluebell Inn or the Bridge End Inn. As well as plenty of stunning views and countryside in the area there’s also plenty of great indoor attractions the whole family will enjoy, from Carlisle Castle, Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life, to the Cumberland Pencil Museum in nearby Keswick, we’re sure you’ll have a great time exploring this fantastic part of England.
