We Are the Mods!
We are the mods, we are the mods. We are, we are, we are the mods.
Whether you were a mod, rocker or hippy (or even too young to know what one of those is!) the 26th to the 28th of September is definitely a date to place in the diary. The Ribble Valley Mod Weekender in Clitheroe will be re-living all that was great about the ‘swinging sixties’ in weekend full of music, dancing and scooters!
The whole town is going to come alive to the sound of The Who and the hum of Vespa scooters. So make sure you’re at the Rose and Crown Hotel for 1pm on the Saturday to watch the scooter ride, there’s sure to be an eclectic mix of bright and colourful Vespa’s with equally as eclectic riders parading around the streets bringing the town of Clitheroe to a halt.
Now we have heard the main stage has sold out but we can promise you there are still so many great bands to see and lots going on, it’s an event for young and old! Not only is there a smashing collection of bands and DJs, there’s also a range of food and merchandise stalls (look out for the Fred Perry shirts!) along with a festival ale sponsored by Thwaites brewery.
So what are you waiting for, ‘scoot’ on down to Clitheroe and enjoy Lancashire at its best. Want to make a last minute trip down to join in the fun?
